When it comes to your health, one of the best things you can do is build an ongoing relationship with a primary care doctor who empowers you to make informed decisions.
Virtual primary care is a convenient way to build this relationship via phone or video. Patients love that they can save time and money while taking control of their health. Doctors love virtual primary care, too, because it allows them to see their patients more often and when care is most needed.
Let's get to know one of our doctors. Chara Freeman, MD, is a First Stop Health Virtual Primary Care doctor who is passionate about supporting under-served communities and providing care where her patients are most comfortable. Read on to learn about Dr. Freeman and her approach to virtual care.
Why did you choose to become a doctor?
My passion was to serve the under-served. My love for people and my compassion for those in need really allow me to thrive in family medicine and connect with those from diverse backgrounds.
Where did you attend medical school?
I attended the West Virginia University School of Medicine and Atrium Health Family Medicine Residency.
How long have you been practicing medicine?
Since 2011.
What is your medical specialty?
I am board-certified in Family Medicine. I am particularly interested in skin health, women's health and helping my patients manage ongoing health conditions.
Why do you love virtual primary care?
Virtual care allows me to connect my passion and talents to reach those who may not otherwise have access to quality healthcare. I love that I can connect with my patients who are in the comfort of their own environment.
When you're not caring for patients, how do you spend your time?
In my spare time, I enjoy singing, songwriting and spending time with my friends and family.
