There are a ton of weight loss tips out there. But did you know that while many of them decrease scale numbers, they increase health issues? And they can decrease your body’s ability to correct itself. Plus, no matter how much weight you lose, you’ll likely gain it back unless you start new lifelong habits. Here's why that might be!
Don't eat C.R.A.P.
Your body loves routine and it doesn’t love change. It loves keeping you alive and it doesn’t love anything that may go against that. Your body is super smart. No matter how much C.R.A.P. (Carbonated. Refined. Artificial. Processed.) we eat, it’ll desperately try to use it somewhere somehow. Even if it decides to store it for later use. This is one reason that we gain weight.
So, you’ve tried other weight loss tips? From fitness classes, dance, yoga and gym memberships to expensive bikes and diet programs. You’ve read books and listened to speakers. And maybe you’ve tried to follow gluten-free, low-fat, low-carb, or high-fat, high-protein diets. Or maybe you’ve even tried to fast for long periods of time.
You’ve purchased prescriptions, placed patches and poured potions. You see your coworkers or friends eating vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, Whole 30, Keto and Paleo. Words like DASH, Mediterranean, MIND, Nordic and Okinawan fly around when talking about diets. They’ve tried fasting, intermittent fasting and alternate day fasting.
But when nothing seems to work, you feel frustrated, burnt out and more disheartened than ever been! Well, you’re not alone. And before you try another new diet or trend, there may be something that is so simple, inexpensive and basic that it couldn’t possibly work. But it does.
By the time most people decide to spend the time and money on themselves for health coaching, they’ve spent thousands on these other “things” and very little of it on themselves. As a result, they’re less healthy and less satisfied with life. Plus, they’re more stressed, depressed and overwhelmed physically, emotionally and mentally than when they began their journey.
We live in a world with tons and tons of weight loss tips, health “information” and wellness products. The problem is that we don’t lack ideas, information, or products. Above all, what we lack is a belief in lifestyle change. Mentors, collaborative partnerships and supportive behavior modification specialists like a health coach or registered dietitian can help!
