Brittany Brooks, MD
Assistant Director of Virtual Primary Care
Why did you choose to become a doctor?
Becoming a doctor started off a childhood dream. I saw how my own doctor, a family doctor, helped to make people feel better and wanted to do the same for others.
What is your medical specialty?
I am board-certified in Family Medicine.
Why do you love virtual primary care?
Virtual primary care allows me to reach patients in the comfort of their homes, which is especially important for those who may not see a doctor due to challenges with childcare, taking time off of work and transportation.
What does care that people love® mean to you?
It means that patients can get the quality care that they need when they need it with reduced barriers to access.

Why did you choose to become a doctor?
I was always interested in science as a child, and when I was very young, I actually thought I wanted to be an astronaut. However, when I spent a week in the hospital after having spine surgery as a young teen, I was overwhelmed when I saw so many children who had been hospitalized with conditions that could have been prevented if they had had access to good healthcare. That’s when I decided to pursue medicine, and specifically, to work to ensure that as many people as possible had access to quality healthcare.
What is your medical specialty?
I am board-certified in Family Medicine.
Why do you love virtual primary care?
There are so many reasons why I love virtual primary care! But the most important thing to me is that it allows me to reach a diverse group of patients in a very convenient, personal way, while giving me the opportunity to build a relationship over time with my patients. This type of relationship can only come when patients are able to see the same provider consistently, and virtual primary care makes this much easier. I know how busy life can get, so my goal is to remove as many barriers as possible to taking care of your health.
What does care that people love® mean to you?
More than anything, care that people love means care that patients keep coming back to, and care that they want to share with their friends and family. When patients feel that you truly care about them, they will trust you to help them to care for themselves.
Aaron Sartin, MD
Virtual Primary Care Doctor
How long have you been practicing medicine?
I have been practicing medicine for 16 years since graduating medical school.
What is your medical specialty?
My specialty and residency training is in Family Medicine but I also have nearly 10 years of experience working in the Emergency Department setting.
Why do you love virtual primary care?
I love that virtual primary care has expanded access to care through technology and promises to bridge gaps in care for many patients.
How would you describe your patient care philosophy?
I believe in empowering patients to make meaningful steps towards wellness. This is inherently patient focused and involves emphasizing the whole person's health: physical, mental and spiritual.

Why did you choose to become a doctor?
My passion was to serve the under-served. My love for people and my compassion for those in need really allow me to thrive in family medicine and connect with those from diverse backgrounds.
What is your medical specialty?
I am board-certified in Family Medicine. I am particularly interested in skin health, women's health and helping my patients manage ongoing health conditions.
Why do you love virtual primary care?
Virtual care allows me to connect my passion and talents to reach those who may not otherwise have access to quality healthcare. I love that I can connect with my patients who are in the comfort of their own environment.

Why did you choose to become a doctor?
As a child, I always had this vision of becoming a volunteer doctor in a place that really needed better access to medical care. I wanted to be able to help the most vulnerable people, especially those who are suffering from medical disease. Eventually, my vision came true! For two years, my husband and I served as volunteer doctors in a mission hospital about 15 miles from Kathmandu, Nepal.
What is your medical specialty?
I am board-certified in Family Medicine.
Why do you love virtual primary care?
I love the flexibility that virtual care provides both for me and the patient, the convenience and the accessibility for patients. It makes total sense to do virtual primary care, where the medical home can be brought to the patient, not the other way around, and treatment can be delivered in the most efficient way using modern technology.
What does care that people love® mean to you?
Care that people love means providing care that makes the most sense to the patient whether that's the convenience and efficiency of using a telehealth platform, connecting them with a specialist who really cares, or receiving the right treatment for their health concerns.

What is your medical specialty?
I am board-certified in Family Medicine.
Why do you love virtual primary care?
Virtual care gives me another way to provide my patients with more convenient healthcare access.
What is your care philosophy?
I believe that we should not only strive to be healthy in life, but that we should also be well. I strive to have an open dialogue with my patients about what being healthy means to them and what the best options are to achieve their own level of wellness.

Virtual Primary Care Nurse
Why did you choose to become a nurse?
I have always had a passion to help and care for people. Nursing has so many avenues and ways to care for others, so choosing this profession was an easy decision for me.
What is your medical specialty?
Throughout my nursing career, most of my focus was on cardiology (heart care and heart-related illnesses). My favorite was working closely with the catheterization and electrophysiology laboratories, which basically look at the plumbing and electrical units of the heart. Cardiology just fascinates me.
Why do you love virtual primary care?
I love that we are giving patients an easy place to go to get great quality healthcare in a timely manner. No more waiting months to get into the office for a quick 5-minute face-to-face with a doctor. And our virtual primary care doctors are just amazing! I’m so happy to be working with such a smart and dedicated clinical team.
What does care that people love® mean to you?
As a nurse, I've seen firsthand how healthcare has changed over the years — and not always for the better. One of the best medical experiences
"My doctor was fantastic. One of the best medical experiences I've had in a long time. She was patient, listened, and provided advice and solutions. For example, I have been taking a new medicine for the past two months and after hearing my hesitation with pills (in general), she gave background on the medicine and how the medicine interacts with my body (why it works). She really made this a positive experience, especially given that it was after traditional business hours for us both."

“I loved having the visit from my house – it was easier and I was less anxious because I didn’t have to park, worry about being on time to my next meeting, etc.”
They were incredibly personable
"I had an absolutely awesome virtual doctor visit with my doctor recently. Their expertise was evident from the way they asked good probing questions and expanded on my responses, making me feel heard and cared for. In addition, they were incredibly personable and took the time to explain answers to my questions in a way that was easy to understand. I truly appreciate their commitment to providing high-quality care, even in a virtual setting. I would highly recommend my doctor to anyone seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable healthcare provider."
